Android vs IOS

Looking to buy a new smartphone?

It's always a hassle with all the different options available today.

In the world of smartphones, the two tech giants Google and Apple are always seen toe to toe with their operating systems Android and IOS, while many different smartphone manufacturers use Android, IOS is limited to just Apple phones named iPhones. Now how do you decide which would be suitable for you?

Don't worry the next few paragraphs will answer all your questions.

Technological and Security

Android is more of an open system as compared to IOS, you can download a lot more on an Android phone as compared to an iPhone and you also get an external SD slot.
IOS has such a tight grip on security making their smartphones and ecosystem more secure as compared to Android which is also one of the reasons why you don't get an external SD slot on any iPhones.

User Friendly

IOS is generally easier to use as it is similar across all Apple devices and it connects and pairs itself in the Apple ecosystem making the entire experience seamless and elegant.
With android, if you have devices from various manufacturers, the experience may be cluttered as it doesn't offer the same streamlined experience as IOS devices do.

Special Features

IOS offers various special features to its users like FaceTime, Airdrop, iMessage, good software upgrades, and even better privacy controls.
Android on the other hand is more of an open system that offers a highly customizable user experience and a better selection of hardware because of the wide variety of android phones from different manufacturers.

Repairs

Now we've all been here and have had our smartphone slipped out of our hand, only to see a broken screen when we pick it back up.
Since android phones and interfaces are produced by many different manufacturers, it's not that expensive to get a repair while on an iPhone since they're the only manufacturers and the entire interface is linked, getting a repair on an iPhone is a lot more expensive.

Call Features

Android only allows users to send a few self-composed texts while declining a call.
IOS on the other hand has many other features like setting a call-back reminder or even the ability to have a Do Not Disturb mode.
On video calls, android has Google Hangouts which can be used to make video calls while on IOS you have FaceTime but you can only use FaceTime with other people that have an IOS device with FaceTime.

Voice Commands

Both of these smartphones offer Voice commands with their own virtual assistants which are Siri for IOS and Google Now for Android.
They both offer similar features such as voice recognition, setting reminders, alarms, typing notes, and many more.

Which should you buy?

If you want a hardware-centric smartphone or a smartphone with just a lot of freedom to customize and change and play with the settings you should choose an Android phone.
if you already have apple products and are in the ecosystem of Apple then you should go for an IOS device as the experience will be seamless.

So, which device do you want to go for and why?
